We are passionate specialists who have spent countless hours perfecting every detail and pouring our hearts and souls into our craft. As a result we have created a smoked salmon that is second to none.
As a family business Hunt’s Smokehouse began with Thomas who worked extensively in the smoked fish industry for over 35 years, mastering the art of smoking salmon. He successfully ran his uncle’s smokehouse for over thirty years before setting up his own smokehouse from scratch in Iceland, supplying customers worldwide. With his dedication and expertise, he created Hunt’s Smokehouse, where he and his family are pleased to share their very own Superior Quality Smoked Salmon.
Our salmon is dry cured using the finest sea salt, which, unlike the rock salt most smokehouses use, contains many important minerals that affect the flavour and texture of the salmon. We traditionally smoke our salmon over pure oak chips and prepare our fish in our small, purpose-built smokehouse, using modern technology and traditional techniques and an attention to detail that few can rival, to create a product that is very special.
We source the highest-quality salmon, from our trusted partners in Norway, the Faroe Islands and Scotland. The Atlantic salmon is Global Gap certified from reputable, sustainable fisheries.
Each fillet is carefully checked and handled with the utmost care to ensure it meets our exacting standards and exceeds customer expectations. We use all our experience to create a beautiful artisan product with an exquisite taste and delicate texture. It is truly a work of love!
Hope Seafood Ltd was established in November 2020, as a family-owned and family-run trading company. At the beginning of 2023, Thomas Hunt, owner and Smoking Master, decided to build a smokehouse on the current site in Southburgh, Norfolk. By having complete control of the process, from sourcing raw materials, processing and distribution, Thomas knew that we would be able to reliably supply our customers, every week of the year, with a superior quality, consistent product.
With this vision in mind and with the constant support of his wife Oksana, Thomas and his son, Harry, began building the factory – it took 6 months for the purpose-built site to come to life. By June 2023, Hunt’s Smokehouse was operational. Since then, Hunt’s Smokehouse has been a truly hands-on family-run business. Our initial SALSA certification was gained on 17th August 2023.
We have been working hard to build our factory to the standards we have now. Our small working team shares the same passion as Thomas and is committed to delivering their best, so the company can continue growing and expanding.
We currently hold SALSA (Safe And Local Supplier Approval) accreditation and are working to achieve BRCGS certification in the next few months. This milestone will ensure our business is able to demonstrate compliance with the most demanding customer requirements in terms of food safety and quality, giving our customers complete confidence in us to be able to supply them with a product of the highest quality.
We are also committed to sustainability, implementing practices that protect our environment, support local communities and ensure the long-term viability of our business. These include using 100% renewably-sourced electricity, more energy-efficient machinery and vehicles, recycling all of our polystyrene fish boxes, using natural sea salt which is the only salt that is sustainable and environmentally responsible and using certified sustainable pure oak wood chips that help to give our smoked salmon, along with our secret ingredient, it’s exquisite flavour.
Through the years we have supplied numerous retailers, wholesalers and restaurants various quantities of our seafood. Not only do we aim to provide our customers with the highest quality Smoked Salmon possible, we aim to work with our customers to ensure the process of its arrival is equally as flawless.
All of our smoked salmon is kept at a specific temperature (never frozen) at all times and packed in a purpose built clean environment. We have a range of packaging solutions to ensure that the salmon arrives safely and is ready to be displayed immediately. If you have specific needs please let us know.
